Urdu media forum expresses concerns over Shia-Sunny riots

    Lucknow: Jai Shankar of Urdu Media Forum organized a seminar on Unity among Muslims which included Muslim intellectuals and religious scholars on the issue, who gave their honest opinion.

    Senior Shiite cleric Maulana Hamidul Hassan said at the meeting that the Shia – Sunni unity is most important in bridging the gap, adding that the district administration’s imposition of a moratorium on the use of loudspeakers frivolous.



    Sunni cleric, Maulana Jahangir Alam said that there needs to be regular meetings to prevent trouble.

    Speakers stressed on the need of clerics, leaders and intellectuals meeting regularly and visiting the strife torn areas.
    Hamidul Maulana Hassan said that the district administration should prevent the use of loudspeakers after 15 Moharram or else police will be considered equally responsible in the fracas.

    Maulana Jahangir Alam said that Shia – Sunni strife leads to manipulations by wasted interests.
