New Delhi: The two day Central Secretariat meeting of Popular Front of India (PFI) which was held at its head quarters in New Delhi has called upon the voters of Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency to support Aam Admi Party candidate Arwind Kejiriwal against Narendra Modi the prime ministerial candidate of BJP.
In a statement issued today PFI said that Modi is not promoted as an effective alternative to congress, but “as a representative of hard-line agressive Hindutwa.”
PFI criticized Congress for its “half-hearted reaction” to challenge Modi. Even though PFI is not fully supportive of AAP but decided to support it as Kejriwal shows genuine intention to defeat Modi.
The secretariat also condemned the continued attacks on Kejiriwal and attempt to disrupt his party programs. “It is a shame in a democratic country like India that a prominent political leader like Kejiriwal gets repeatedly attacked in public. Those who feel threatened by his politics are encouraging these heinous acts to intimidate him. Whoever be behind these attacks, they must be exposed. “
PFI also decided to support Congress candidate Madhusudan Mistry in Vadodra.
PFI will continue to support its political wing Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) candidates in other constituencies. So far SDPI has announced candidates for one seat in Karnataka and three in Tamil Nadu:
