“We have arrested three Bangladeshi women and two Indian nationals and examining if they have links with the Burdwan blast,” Superintendent of Police S.M.H. Meerza told IANS.

“Of the three Bangladeshis, one woman had an Aadhar card with a Maharashtra address as well as voter and PAN cards bearing a West Bengal address,” Meerza said.

The accused were arrested while entering the Burdwan railway station.

Meerza said all five were taken to a court where the police sought their custody.

“We are yet to ascertain if they have links with the JMB or the Burdwan blast,” said Meerza.

The Oct 2 accidental blast occurred at a house in Khagragarh in Burdwan killing two JMB militants and injuring another.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the West Bengal Police have arrested several people, including blast mastermind and JMB commander Sajid.

The arrests came on a day when NIA Inspector General Sanjiv Kumar Singh accompanied by Sajid and another blast accused went to Murshidabad district where one of the dead militants had a rented accommodation and operated a shop.
