Trinamool leader again makes unsavoury remarks

Kolkata : Days after apologising for his offensive comment against late prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri and his grandson and BJP leader S.N. Singh, Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee has once again made unsavoury remarks against the the BJP leader.

The Lok Sabha member from Sreerampur in Hooghly district Saturday hit out at Singh, calling him a “kulangaar” (black sheep) of his family. He was addressing a meet in Masat village in his constituency.

“The grandson of the honourable Shastri comes here and says ‘Bhag Mamata Bhag’ (Run Mamata, run)…what kind of language is this? Singh is the Kulangaar of the family,” Banerjee was caught as saying on a video, which was aired by TV channels Sunday.

Banerjee was referring to Singh’s Nov 30 jibe during a BJP rally in the city where he had asserted it was time for Trinamool Congress leaders, including Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, to run from the CBI, which is probing the multi-crore-rupee Saradha scam.

Banerjee stoked up a controversy earlier in the month when he made personal remarks against the late prime minister and his grandson Singh, who is in charge of the BJP affairs in West Bengal.

Infamous for his acerbic tongue, Banerjee Dec 10 expressed regret over his comments against Shastri.

BJP’s state unit president Rahul Sinha slammed Banerjee for the comments.

“When the chief minister is not hesitant is repeatedly using unparliamentary language, what can be expected from her party leaders? Using filthy language and making unsavoury remarks has become Trinamool’s culture,” said Sinha.
