Agra : Thousands of Muslims offered Eid prayers at the Taj Mahal and were joined by some foreign tourists too as the 1th century monument was made open entry for three hours.
With pleasant weather, the festival marking the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan was celebrated with great fervour in Agra and neighbouring districts of Firozabad and Mathura.
Senior officials joined politicians at Idgah, Jama Masjid and other important mosques in the town to greet people and pray for communal amity.
Muslims in Taj Ganj area, in Mantola, Nai ki Mandi and other areas were seen greeting one another.
