Ali Day celebrated at AMU

Aligarh: The Ali Society of the Aligarh Muslim University organized a commemorative function to celebrate Ali Day at the Kennedy Hall Auditorium.

Noted scholar and Vice Chairman, Muslim Personal Law Board, Maulana Syed Kalb-e-Sadiq was the guest of honour. The Officiating Vice Chancellor of AMU, Prof. Suhail Ahsan presided over the Ali Day function.

Dean, Faculty of Theology, Prof. Saud Alam Qasmi, Maulana Namdar Abbas (Patna), Maulana Ghazanfar Abbas Tusi (Muzaffar Nagar) and Prof. Shaista Zaidi (Pakistan) highlighted the life and work of Hazrat Ali.

Professor Mahshar Raza, President of the Ali Society welcomed the dignitaries and said that the Ali Society has been actively engaged in disseminating the teachings of Hazrat Ali through various activities.

On this occasion, AMU Registrar, Group Captain (Retd.) Shahrukh Shamshad inaugurated an exhibition of books and manuscripts at Maulana Azad Library to mark Ali Day.
