SIO felicitates WB qualifiers of National Muslim Talent Search Examination

Kolkata: As many as 113 meritorious students, including 17 girls, from West Bengal were felicitated by the Students Islamic Organisation (SIO) for clearing the National Muslim Talent Search Examination.

The SIO felicitated the students in collaboration with New Delhi-based Human Welfare Foundation (HWF) at a function held on November 22, 2014 at the TB Association Hall here.

The National Muslim Talent Search Examination (NMTSE) is held across India to search for talented Muslim students from class 8th. The examination was held in West Bengal on April 24 and July 8 this year.

According to Human Welfare Foundation (HWF) and SIO of state committee, about 3000 students from West Bengal participated in this NMTSE competition. Among them, only 113 students, including seven girls, succeeded.

Mehbub Hossain Molla, a student of Al Amin Mission of Khalatpur under the Howrah district, scored the second rank in the country in NMTSE. The student hailing from Bhangore village of South 24 Parganas district, has scored the first position in the state. Besides Molla, scores of other from the total 113 felicitated students are from Al Amin Mission, a renowned residential Minority educational institution in the state. Sarkar Shan Ariyan and Muhammad Wasim gets second and third position in the state level in NMTSE.

In girls section of NMTSE, first three students were: Sultana of Rampurhat Girls High School, Tamanna Zaman of Al Amin Mission, Howrah and Afsana Khatun of Malancha Mission of Usthi, South 24 Parganas scored the first three ranks respectively.

Regional coordinator of Human Welfare Foundation Masud Alam said, the NMTSE is held every year to assist the poor and meritorious students and such financial assistance to achievers may help them to continue higher education. “Everyone should come forward for the needy students,” said Alam.

Former All India general secretary of SIO Abdur Rafique, State President Masiur Rahman, State general secretary Abdullahil Kafi, Campus secretary Muhammad Helaluddin, Lawyer and Human rights activist Khurshid Alam, PRO of state SIO, Kamruj Jamal and many others personalities was present in this felicitation program.
