The MBMC alleged that Manav Mahajan, owner of Hotel Mahajan, had posted derogatory and inflammatory messages against the AMU from his Facebook account on October 18. “He had alleged that terrorist activities are taking place in the AMU campus and illegal arms are being manufactured there,” MBMC alleged and added, “He also accused that pro-Pakistan and anti-India slogans are being raised in the campus and the Muslims themselves are not checking such elements.”

The MBMC lodged a police complaint in this connection at the Civil Lines police station and the police in turn, registered an FIR under section 66A of the IT Act. However, dissatisfied by the police working, MBMC secretary Jasim Mohammad led a delegation to meet the NCM chairman Nasim Ahamd, IAS, and submitted a memorandum alleging that the police is trying to hush-up the case and failing to arrest Mahajan.

“Though we have submitted all proofs, the police are not arresting the accused. Today I have handed over all documents along with memorandum to the NCM chairman and he has assured us that he will direct the DGP and ADGP of UP to take requisite action and arrest Mahajan,” he said.
