‘Dalit students in J&K not getting scholarships on time’

Jammu: Aman Thappa, a former NSUI leader has appealed to the Director, Social Welfare Department of Jammu & Kashmir regarding problems being faced by SC students of the state. Addressing the media, Mr. Aman Thappa appealed the Director to intervene into the burning issues of SC students. He said that dalit students are not getting timely scholarships due to which they are facing a lot of hardships.

“SC students are financially poor students but are very sharp minded but due to absence of facilities, they usually find it difficult to compete in today’s competitive world,” said Thappa.

Further he demanded that the amount of scholarships should be increased with a hike of ten percent. With scholarahips, stationery items should be also provided by the concerned department which will give an edge to poor sc students. He warned that if his demands are not met out quickly by the Social Welfare Department , he will start an agitation against department.
