Made in India FUSO trucks launched in Indonesia

Chennai: Commercial vehicle maker Daimler India Commerical Vehicles (DICV) and Japan’s Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation Japan have launched two new models, both built in India, in Indonesia.

In a statement issued here Thursday, DICV, a wholly owned subsidiary of German auto major Daimler AG, said it, along with Mitsubishi Fuso Trucks under Daimler Trucks Asia, commercially launched FUSO FJ 25T and FI 12T trucks at the 22nd Indonesia International Motor Show.

The new FUSO trucks are rolled out from the DICV manufacturing facility in Oragadam near Chennai.

The new FUSO trucks have already been introduced in Kenya, Sri Lanka, Zambia, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Brunei, and now in Indonesia, the statement said.

DICV is currently in the process of setting up a dedicated manufacturing facility for the manufacture of Daimler buses under the Mercedes-Benz and BharatBenz brands.

The new manufacturing facility will also include a state-of-the-art body-building facility within its premises, the statement said.
