18,000 British Muslims to perform Haj this year

Dubai : The British Foreign Office announced that about 18,000 British Muslims are expected to perform Haj this year, and promised to provide consular services for them.

The Foreign Ministry said, in a report received by the German news agency (DPA), that the British Consulate-General in Jeddah provides various consular services to the British pilgrims.

According to the report, the British Foreign Office has allocated a guide manual for the British pilgrims, and launched an awareness campaign through its social networking sites, titled “Knowledge before traveling”, urging those who intend to travel to Saudi Arabia to perform Haj to take all the preparations and comply with the requirements and procedures launched annually by Saudi Arabia.

The British Embassy in Saudi Arabia has set up an open dialogue session to answer questions on support provided to British nationals during Haj. Questions can be sent to the embassy’s Twitter account, using special Haj hashtag.
