Peace Foundation is a registered public charitable trust established in May 2013 with the purpose of bringing social and economic development in the society. The foundation is non-profit non-government voluntary organisation which is open to all sections of the society.

Mohammad Babar, the President of Asim Bihari Foundation emphasized that what is being done at this centre is only beginning in this small town. It is the need of hour to start similar centres at every block area so that the work gets multiplied.

Aftab Hassan Shams, a renowned social activist from Bihar Sharif, appreciated the initiative of both the foundations and appealed the society to start more and more NGOs. ‘In coming days various schemes will be handed over to the NGOs and we should be able to grab those welfare schemes from the government’, he felt.

Budha Sharan Hans, IAS (retired), in his presidential address, reiterated that today’s poverty is not as worse as it used to be a few decades back. “Poverty is not at all a hindrance in the course of study. Students should study more than others and then only success will be assured.”

Master Farooq and Qaiser Imam, advocates, appealed the gathering to come forward and enter into the field of social work. Serving to the human kind is serving to God, they emphasized. Hafiz Shanuddin from Shanti Sandesh Sangam explained the importance of acquiring knowledge and reminded the audience to travel as far as China to acquire knowledge. The first verse of Holy Qur’an starts with emphasise on reading (iqra), he said.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Mohammad Quasim, secretary, Peace Foundation.
