VHP demands uniform policy to control population

New Delhi : Demanding a uniform population policy for every community in the country, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad on Thursday expressed concern at the fall in percentage of the Hindu population.

“This has happened for the first time in the history of country that the percentage of Hindu population has gone down to 80. This is a cause of great concern not only for India but for the entire world,” VHP spokesperson Surendra Jain said in a press conference here.

“VHP appeals to the central government as well all the state governments to implement a uniform policy to control population among all the communities of the country,” he added.

He also alleged that there was no communal harmony in those districts or areas of the country, where Hindus are in minority.

Jain said that according to the figures of recently released census, Muslims are in majority nine districts of Assam, three districts each of Bihar and West Bengal and the whole Kashmir Valley.
