Author of album on 155 Muslim freedom fighters felicitated

Chennai: Syed Naseer Ahmed, the historian from Andhra Pradesh who has compiled a new album of photographs of 155 Muslim freedom fighters in a coffee table book titled ‘The Immortals’, was felicitated here by the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML).

His splendid work reveals the scarifies of Indian Muslim community in the struggle for India’s freedom contains beautiful pictures with a brief sketch of all 155 Muslim freedom fighters, simultaneously in Telugu and English.

Ahmed, the author was received and felicitated on Sunday at the headquarters of the Indian Union of Muslim League (IUML) here by Professor KM Kader Mohideen, national general secretary and Tamil Nadu president of IUML.

Ahmed presented his new work to Professor Mohideen, a release said here.

The IUML secretary appreciated the good work done by the historian, which he said, would help in highlighting the contributions of Muslims in the freedom struggle and in the process help in strengthening communal harmony.

The author presented his earlier book ‘Indian Freedom Struggle: Andra Pradesh Muslims’ as well, the release added.
