One day Ramadan celebration of Qirra’h and Na’ats concluded in Srinagar

Srinagar : A one day Qirra’h and Na’ats programme was organized by Wilson & Royals, an event management company in Srinagar on Friday, July 10 in which Qaris and Naatkhaans participated from various parts of Jammu and Kashmir.

The marriage hall of Kathidarwaza, Saida Kadal which remains witness to a variety of events including marriages round the year, had Friday filled its atmosphere with fervor and gaiety. These were celebrations of a different type that satiated the minds and hearts of people on the lookout for peace and solace.

The traditional cheers usually heard in applause were replaced with voices like Subhan Allah, Ma’Sha Allah, Jameel, Ahsant, etc. as state’s leading 10 Qaris and Naatkhaans went on making their presentations at the ‘ Ramadan Ihtefaal’ (celebration of Ramadan).

Many reciters held the audience spellbound with the mesmerizing effect of their voices. Mufti Muhammad Sultan, who moderated over four- hour long programme set the tone for the Mehfil with his Quranic recitation— after giving a detailed background of the tradition of Quranic recitation. This was followed by a bi- lingual Urdu- Kashmiri Naat presentation by noted Naat Khawan Ghulam Hassan Gamgeen in his melodious voice alongwith young talented naatkhuwans. With it started the recitations of Ayats from Holy Quran by Qari Sajjad Ahmad Wani Head Qirrat Department, Daar ul Uloom Bilaliya followed by presentations by Qari Ateeq-Ul-Rehman from Bhalessa Doda; Qari Shah Muhammad Wani from Doda and Other Qaris from across the valley.

Young Naat Khawn, Tajamul Ahmad, Taufeeq Bashir, Sageer Abbas and Aafaq Ahmad received applauses from the audience with their Naat presentations. On popular demand noted Kashmiri critique, poet and social activist Zareef Ahmad Zareef presented tributes to the Holy Prophet SAW in his own style.

This was followed by a brief valedictory function where the participants were felicitated with mementoes,Holy Quran and Shawls from the organisers.

A Naatkhuwan presents Naat to the audience

The Islamic event ended with a Duvaiya Majlis led by Mufti Sultan during which the participants prayed to Allah seeking His pardon for sins, end to their miseries and peace in their lives. Later the organisers hosted Iftar party and the participants dispersed after offering Magrib.

The efforts of the organisers particularly Sheikh Imran Bashir, Managing Director Wilson & Royals were highly appreciated by the audience for organising the event to commemorate Quran Revelation in a befitting manner.
