Ramanathapuram (Tamil Nadu): Condemning a fresh hate speech against Purdah by the BJP leader, the Manithaneya Makkal Katchi (MMK) has demanded the arrest of H Raja, National Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party under National Security Act.

At his recent press meet held in Mayiladuthurai of Nagapattinam district, H Raja, the senior BJP leader of state, reportedly asked the Government of Tamil Nadu to ban Purdah in colleges alleging that this leading to more cases of cheating during examinations.

Condemning his accusation, the Ramanathapuram MLA office released a press statement demanding the state government to arrest Raja under National Security Act for infuriating hate speech against Muslim minority.

“There is not a single complaint against any girl wearing Purdah who cheated in exams. It is a full-time job of Raja, who is intentionally speaking mischief against Muslim minority,” said Professor MH Jawahirullah, the MLA and senior leader of MMK representing Ramanathapuram assembly constituency.

The BJP leader’s hate speech is ridiculing the Constitution of India which guarantees its citizens to follow wear customs and preach any religion they want, the MLA added in his statement.

“Thus I request the Tamil Nadu Government to arrest H Raja under NSA for disrupting communal harmony in the state,” Jawahirullah further added.

It is noteworthy that the BJP leader also came under fire from Muslim groups in the state for his “rowdy” allegation at Syed Mohammed who was shot dead by sub-inspector Kalidoss during custodial interrogation at SP Pattinam police station in Ramanathapuram last year.
