AMU forms Steering Committee as it decides to go for accreditation for healthcare services

Aligarh: Encouraged by the grading by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) after the visit of its peer team in February and in view of its impact on the academic and research activities of the University, the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has decide to go for assessment and accreditation of all its healthcare services also and formed a Steering Committee for the same.

Lt Gen Zameer Uddin Shah, AMU vice chancellor, has considered National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Hospital Services (NABH) for assessment of all healthcare services of the University including JN Medical College, Dr. Ziauddin Ahmad Dental College, Medical Attendance Scheme, University Health Services and the Health Services for Resident Girls, a release from AMU said.

A Steering Committee under the chairmanship of Professor S Abrar Hasan, department of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, with Professor Khalid Sherwani of department of Orthopaedic Surgery as its convener has been constituted in order to manage and prepare the accreditation road map, it said.

The other members of the Committee include: coordinator, Internal Quality Assurance Cell or his representative; Professor Tariq Mansoor, principal and CMS, JNMC; Professor Amanullah Khan, department of Surgery; Professor Zulfia Khan, retired, department of Community Medicine and Dr Tabish Khan, department of Community Medicine as president RDA.
