Helpline to provide counselling to class 12 students launched

New Delhi : NGO Snehi has set up its post-result helpline to counsel class 12 students whose CBSE examinations results were declared here on Monday, a statement said.

In its 17th year of providing counselling to students, ‘Hopeline’ will be available from May 25 to 31 between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Students can call on the helpline – 011-65978181, and their queries will be handled by a group of trained counsellors and mental health professionals. Students can also seek help through email at [email protected].

“HopelineAwill be manned by a team of trained counsellors and mental health professionals under the supervision of our consultant child and adolescent mental health care professionals and senior counsellors,” the NGO said in a statement.

In 2014, the NGO attended 2,412 calls from students and 319 calls from parents.

A total of 23.89 lakh students have registered for the 2015 Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board examinations as compared to the 22.65 lakh students in 2014 and 21.76 lakh students in 2013.

The pass percentage of 2015 is 82 percent, which is marginally lower than that of last year which was 82.70 percent.

Snehi also sets up a pre-exam helpline ‘Disha’ every year in February and March before and during the CBSE exams.
