Youth arrested in Maharashtra for anti-Muslims hate message on Whatsapp

Gangapur (Aurangabad): City police have arrested a youth here from Gangapur town in Aurangabad district for circulating hate messages against Muslim community on mobile application Whatsapp.

Anand Sonawane, 26, a resident of Gangapur is arrested on Tuesday after the circulation of anti-Muslim message on whatsapp group named “sangam” is brought to the notice by aggrieved Muslims.

When Muslims came to know about forwarding of such message maligning their community, Anwar Pathan, a resident of the same town approached police stations and registered an FIR.

Sharad Barde, a local police officer praised Muslims decision of timely approaching police for action than creating mob that could have resulted in law and order problem. He also appealed people to report such incidences to police as like these people did.

Soon after filing of FIR, police came into action and arrested Sonanwane. He was then produced before Magistrate court that sent him to judicial custody ordering to lodge him to Harsul central jail in Aurangabad city.
