Pakistan violates ceasefire again: Indian Army

Jammu: Pakistan on Wednesday evening again violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch sector, an army official said.

“Pakistan again violated the ceasefire in Balakot and Hamirpur areas of Poonch today (Wednesday),” a defence spokesman told IANS.

“Heavy firing started at 8.40 p.m. today (Wednesday) from the Pakistan side, which was the fourth ceasefire violation in the last 48 hours (two days) by Pakistani troops… Our troops are retaliating very effectively,” he said.

Police said the Pakistan Army used small and medium weapons during the ceasefire violation in Bharooti, Panjani and Sohali areas of Balakote sector, which have civilian population living in areas close to the LoC.

Earlier on Wednesday, Pakistan violated the ceasefire in Krishna Ghati sector of the same district.
