AMU Alumni forum UAE celebrates Independence day with fervour in Dubai

Dubai: The AMU Alumni Forum United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday, August 15 celebrated Independence day at Dastar Khan Restaurant in Dubai.

The event was attended by all office bearers, executive body of Alumni forum besides other dignitaries. The event was marked by playing patriotic songs, flag hosting, national anthem, national songs, patriotic speeches along with AMU Tarana recitation.

S.M. Qutbur Rahman, President, AMU Alumni Forum UAE in his speech emphasized upon the upliftment of Muslims in education and raised grave concern related to socio-economic scenario of Muslims in India.

He also spoke about “Sheikh Zayed Complex”, which the forum will build a complex within the AMU campus to accommodate 1,000 students.

The building is named after the Founder of U.A.E, Late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who visited AMU in 1975 and financially helped its Chemical Engineering Department.

Adil Akhtar, Vice President, AMU Alumni Forum UAE, high lightened and reminded the audience about the first battle for freedom in 1857, whereas Joint Secretary Ateeq Khan spoke about the true meaning of independence of community and briefed about current and future projects which AMU Alumni forum is supposed to undertake.

Dr Arshi Khan, Women Cell Coordinator, gave vote of thanks to all the participants and encouraged the youths to come forward for the betterment of community especially the women.
