Riyadh: On December 6, 2016, twenty-four years after the historic Babri Masjid was destroyed by Sangh Parivar in Ayodhya, India Fraternity Forum Karnataka chapter organized a public program in the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh demanding its reconstruction of the mosque on the same site.
The program was inaugurated by Janab Basheer of Kerala, the President of Indian Social Forum of Riyadh. In his inaugural address he said, “Demolition of babri Masjid is still difficult to forgot to people those who believes in secularism and democratic principals.’’
Janab Naveed Kundapur, state council member of India Fraternity Forum invited as keynote speaker, delivered his thoughts on demolition of babri masjid. Speking to gathering he said, “after the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, the demolition of Babri Masjid is the second biggest act of terrorism in India. The Fascist forces brought down the secular system of the country, by demolishing the masjid on December 6, 1992. It is a black mark on the constitutional rights, which provides freedom of religion.”
He further added that “the demolition of Babri Masjid was no accident, but a pre-planned act of the BJP to gain votes. Even after promising the Supreme Court that they would not harm the Babri Masjid, a section of BJP leaders provoked party workers to demolish it. Many political leaders used it as an issue to come to power. Many promised us that they would rebuild Babri Masjid. But, it was all a drama.”
The program was presided by Ismail Inoli, The president of India Fraternity Forum, Karnataka Chapter, in his presidential speech he said, the Liberhan Commission report has named L.K Advani, Muruli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti, Vinay Katiyar, as being involved in the destruction of our holy place. But, nothing has been done to arrest them. Only rebuilding the masjid on the same site would serve justice and restore the faith of millions of upright citizens of India, Muslims and non-Muslims.
Janab Shareef Kabaka the General Secretary of Indian Social forum, Karnataka state committee was the guest of honor.
Irfan Upiinagdy welcomed the gathering and Harees Angargundi proposed vote of thanks.
