Jamia establishes first distance learning centre in Seemanchal

Kishanganj (Bihar): Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has established its first distance learning centre in Seemanchal region here at ITI Ground, Tauheed Educational Trust (TET) Campus, Kishanganj Bihar.

The centre was inaugurated on Sunday at the hands of Prof. Talat Ahmad, VC of JMI in the presence of many dignitaries including Dr. Ashok Chaudhary, HRD & IT Minister, Bihar, Dr. Mujtaba Khan, Director Arjun Singh Centre for Distance Learning JMI, Minnat Rahmani, President of Bihar Pradesh Congress – Minority Dept.), Parvez Akram Siddiqui, Community Leader & President of JMI Alumni- UAE and Prof. MJ Warsi ,Washington DC.

The program was attended by large number of intellectuals, academicians, socials activist and youth from Seemanchal region.

Mohammad Aslam Alig, President Human Chain President congratulated TET Chairman for opening the Distance Learning Centre of JMI and thanked JMI VC and Director Distance Education JMI. He also requested JMI VC to allow B.Ed course at this Centre in near future. Jamia VC assured him that he shall take necessary action in this regard

“This Centre is the outcome of continuous effort and follow up by Human Chain Team with Director of Distance Learning, JMI and Honorable VC Prof. Talat Ahmed”, Alig said.

“Prof. Talat fulfilled his promise to open Distance Learning Centre in Kishanganj which was announced by him in an Educational Conference organized by Human Chain at Madrassa Aisha Niswan, SehraTola, Purnea. Human Chain is also committed to take initiatives to open the Distance Learning Centres of JMI in all the MCD’s of North India with the help of Jamia administration”, he added.

Pointing out the need of establishing new university he said, “There is not a single Private or Govt. University in this region except a newly established APJ Kalam Agriculture University which is not enough to cater the needs of Seemanchal students”.

Motiurrahman Madni, Chairman of Tauheed Educational Trust, Kishanganj expressed his gratitude and thanked Jamia VC Prof. Talat Ahmed for approving the center in a very short span of time and for coming again at TET Campus for Inauguration.

He also expressed his commitment to run this center with excellence in order to convert it into a grand University. Madni also sought support from Dr. Ashok Chaudhary to establish a Private University in TET Campus.

In his address Dr. Ashok Choudhary promised to provide all kind of support in Education Sector for Kishanganj and Seemanchal Region. He also promised to meet Parkash Javadekar, HRD Minister, Govt. of India with the delegation of Human Chain to resolve AMU Kishanganj fund issue requested by Mohammad Alam Alig.

He also responded positively to the urging of Mohammad Aslam Alig and assured to look into the matter of establishing a new University in Seemanchal region.
