The 65-year-old was earlier arrested in several cases of medical entrance exam question paper leakage cases and medical admission irregularities in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

According to the CID, Reddy organised a camp in Bengaluru where 20 students procured by two other brokers of Hyderabad and Vijayawada were given practice with leaked TS EAMCET-II-2016 (medical) question papers.

Reddy had collected Rs 1.25 crore from Vishnudhar of Hyderabad and Jyothi Babu of Vijayawada.

The CID also arrested Arigi Venkata Ramanaiah and Bandaru Ravindra of Resonance Medical Academy in Hyderabad.

They had sent four students of their academy to a Pune camp through Ramesh alias Shaikh Raheem for taking practice with leaked question papers. They collected Rs 35 lakh from three students and paid it to Ramesh.

With this, the number of persons arrested in the case rose to six. A CID official said efforts were to nab other accused. Ramesh was arrested on Friday while two other accused were taken into custody earlier.

The CID took up investigations after a section of students and their parents raised doubts as average students bagged top ranks in the results declared on July 13.

More than 50,000 students had appeared for the exam held on July 9. The exam was conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University for admissions into MBBS and BDS courses in Telangana.

The state government on Friday decided to cancel the exam and hold fresh admission test in August.

More than 100 students benefited from question paper leak and the CID suspects Rs 15 crore changed hands.
