Danish Qavi

After Iftar, Danish was explaining the importance of interpersonal behaviour to one of the employees at his upmarket multi-utility store in the central part of Lucknow.

“Beyond Namaz and Roza,” he turned around to continue, “it is how we behave with others that’s most important.” This was important not just because of being in a customer facing profession, but also because it dictates how one ends up being perceived in society. It doesn’t end there, because that’s something Allah has decreed as being outside the purview of his pardon. An affront against another human will have to be forgiven by the same person.

Ramadan is a wonderful time of the year, and Danish feels it would be even more beautiful if people gave as much importance to observing the deeper spirit of the month, instead of focusing on maintaining physical appearances.
