BJP ‘Sankalp March’ to back demonetisation on Friday

New Delhi : The Delhi BJP on Wednesday said it will organise a “Sankalp March” on November 25 in support of the Union government’s move to demonetise Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes to curb “black money and corruption”.

“We will stage a Sankalp March on November 25 in support of the action against black money by Prime Minister Narender Modi’s government,” Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Satish Upadhyay told reporters.

According to party leaders, the Sankalp March will start at 10.00 a.m. from the Balmiki Mandir situated at Mandir Marg and conclude near the statue of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel at Patel Chowk on Parliament Street.

Upadhyay also said that besides the BJP workers, a large number of representatives of citizens’ organisations will participate in this massive march.

“The participants of the march will resolve to give full support to the Modi government in his fight against corruption and in his efforts for the ‘Nav Nirman’ (re-construction) of the nation,” he added.

The government had on November 8 spiked Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes.

The opposition has been venting its ire ever since, as serpentine queues have been seen outside the banks branches and ATMs across the country.
