According to police, they were arrested from a rented accommodation in Sagarpur in West District following a complaint made to the Delhi Police Anti-Human Trafficking Unit in Dwarka by Ram Khadka, member of the All India Nepalese Unity Forum, an NGO, on Saturday.

Ram Khadka was approached by three girls who were fleeing the clutches of the gangsters in Delhi, police said.

“Police arrested Harish, Nira and John from Sagarpur. During the interrogation, they revealed that they hatched a conspiracy with one Tirath Raj and Purnima to earn easy money on the pretext of sending girls to foreign countries. Later, with the help of John, police arrested Purnima,” Joint Commissioner of Police Crime (JCB) Ravindra Yadav said.

“Tirath Raj used to lure young girls and boys in the name of sending them to New Zealand and other overseas countries on work visa,” a senior police officer said.

Tirath Raj would call victims for interview in different hotels of Kathmandu, extract Rs 8-10 lakh from each victim and then send them to meet John in Delhi to fulfil other formalities.

“When victims met John in Delhi, Purnima obtained their all documents. John molested them in night and tried to indulge them in sex racket. Harish and Nira would beat them,” yadav added.
