AMU student expelled for objectionable post on Uri deaths

By TCN News

Aligarh: The Vice Chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah today expelled Mudassir Yousaf, a student of M.Sc. (Organic Chemistry), for posting an objectionable comment yesterday on Facebook in connection with the killing of 17 army personnel in a camp in the state of Jammu and Kashmir by a group of terrorists.

The Vice Chancellor had taken a very serious view on this issue and took the above step after personally probing into the matter within hours of the matter coming to light. He met the student and berated him for his anti-national post.

Lt. Gen. Shah said that there is “no scope whatsoever at AMU for tolerating any incident which smacks of anti-national sentiments and there will be no compromise with the unity and integrity of the country at any cost”. He said that the incident, which is highly condemnable, has hurt the sentiments of the University fraternity.
