Muslim Boy bags top rank in Kerala Engineering Examination

Shafil Maheen from Kozhikode bagged the first rank in the Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination results announced on Tuesday. He secured first rank by scoring 587.1312 marks. Shafil, a student of Rays Public School, Kozhikode is the son of KA Niyas and Dr.Shamjitha of BP Angadi in Tirur of Malappuram district.

Shafil, whose favourite subject is maths, said hard work helped him win the rank. He added that he was always punctual and followed strict time table, with only one hour every week for other entertainments like computer games.

This is the third achievement of Shafil. He has so far bagged fourth rank in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2017 by scoring 90.43% marks in the examination. Besides, Maheen he got eighth rank in JEE Mains at the national level and first rank in Kerala.

Shafil told Twocircles.net that he will join Indian Institute of Science in Bengaluru and wants to become a mathematician.

He added that support of his parents helped him much to gain the victory. Shafil’s family has been staying in Kozhikode for last two years in order to help Shafil carry his entrance coaching.
