18 years back on 26th October 2001 it was a Friday and after the Jummah namaz at the Jama Masjid in Central Market, communal riots took place.

But the police who tried to control the riots fired only on Muslim crowds killing 10 more persons and not on the Hindu crowds that were vandalising Muslim properties.

Despite being a majority the Muslims in Malegaon were the ones who suffered more there were rapes of Muslim women, mosques were damaged and nearly 100 crore worth business was lost.  The Hindus who are a minority are economically strong and had planned these riots in advance.

The Patil commission that was formed by the State Government of Maharashtra to investigate the communal riots prepared their report and submitted to the Government. The report of the concerned citizens however brought to light the horrific crimes committed against the Muslims and the apathy of the Police force.

But so far the victims have not been delivered justice either in the times of the previous government  that claimed to be secular or the present Government which is aligned with the right winged Hindutva forces.
