Modi had alerted PM: Advani

By IANS,

Bangalore : Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi had alerted the prime minister and the home minister about a possible terror strike in Delhi, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani said here Saturday.

“Modi had alerted the prime minister and the home minister 10 days back that interrogation of SIMI (Students Islamic Movement of India) activists in Ahmedabad had revealed that next blasts would be in Delhi,” Advani said.

He was addressing a party rally here on the second day of the three-day BJP national executive meeting.

The SIMI activists had been arrested in Ahmedabad in connection with serial blasts there July 26 and in Bangalore a day earlier.

“Modi’s alert has not been heeded,” Advani said.

He and BJP president Rajnath Singh, who also addressed the rally, condemned the blasts.

Advani said Modi had met the prime minister and the home minister to seek the central government’s approval for Gujarat’s anti-terror law.
