New Delhi: The US Monday assured it was keeping a “hawk eye” on military aid given to Pakistan to ensure that it was not misused for anti-India activity.
“The US treats this issue very seriously,” US Ambassador Timothy J. Roemer told reporters here when asked about India’s apprehensions about the US giving military aid to Pakistan being used for anti-India activities.
“This is something the state department follows very closely. If there are any allegations, we follow it,” Roemer said.
“The Congress will keep an eye like a hawk to ensure that weapons sold to Pakistan are used for purpose for which they are meant,” he said.
