According to officials, Abha, accompanied by a female relative, spent over an hour with Rathore Saturday.

“Abha Rathore and another lady came to the jail today and they met with Rathore for nearly one-and-half hour. They brought home made food and gave it to him,” a senior official of the high-security jail told IANS.

Rathore was arrested Tuesday and sent to jail after a court enhanced his jail term from six months to 18 months for molesting teenager Ruchika Girhotra in 1990.

Ruchika committed suicide three years later due to alleged police harassment.

“Rathore is staying in jail just like any other ordinary convict. His behaviour is normal. We are not giving him any VIP treatment.”

Abha had also moved Rathore’s bail petition in the high court on medical grounds, saying he had undergone a heart surgery and required medical attention.

The next date of hearing in the high court is May 31.
