Captain Surinder Kaur scored for India from a penalty stroke in the 41st minute while Canada equalised in the 63rd minute through skipper Stephanie Nesbitt.

It was a close game and the first half was goalless.

India made a strong start and earned four penalty corners in the first five minutes of the match. They should have taken the lead from the fourth penalty corner when Canadian goalkeeper Azelia Liu was beaten but defender Stephanie Jameson made a goal line save.

India earned three more penalty corners in the second half and were awarded a penalty stroke from the last one.

Surinder made no mistake as she easily beat Liu to give India the lead.

The Canadian equaliser came after captain Nesbitt, who was positioned in front of Indian goalkeeper Deepika Murty, latched onto a pass from Katie Baker and comfortably slotted home.

India beat Canada 3-2 in the first Test Wednesday.

The two teams will play the third Test Saturday at the same venue.
