2 killed, 50 hurt in clashes in Kashmir, curfew tomorrow

Srinagar: The Jammu & Kashmir government on Friday evening announced complete curfew in Srinagar city on Saturday.

“Curfew will remain in force in the entire city on Saturday to prevent any further loss of life.” However, it is unclear whether the rest of Kashmir will have a declared or undeclared curfew, official spokesperson said.
Earlier, Security forces opened fire on protesters as fresh violence on Friday erupted in the Kashmir Valley, resulting two persons dead and 50 others injured.

Authorities imposed strict restrictions on the movement of people following a call by the Hurriyat (G) led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani, March to Maisuma the main business hub of city in protest against the killing of youths allegedly in firing by security forces.

Showkat Ahmad Chopan and Mohammad Ahsan Ganai were killed and seven others injured when security forces allegedly opened fire on a mob at Arampora village of Sopore north Kashmir this afternoon, police said.
