Chennai : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M. Karunanidhi Tuesday wished the ailing spiritual guru Sathya Sai Baba a speedy recovery.
Karunanidhi said in his message that his heart ached to hear that Sathya Sai Baba was seriously unwell and added that he wished him speedy recovery.
Karunanidhi said Sathya Sai Baba donated liberally to bring drinking water to Chennai city by repairing the Telugu Ganga canal that carried water from the Krishna river from Andhra Pradesh.
In January 2007, Sathya Sai Baba visited Karunanidhi’s Gopalapuram residence here taking many by surprise.
Hosting his special guest for nearly an hour, Karunanidhi then presented books to the guru and also requested him to take more welfare schemes for the benefit of Tamil Nadu.
Sathya Sai Baba was admitted to hospital at Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh March 28 as he was suffering from a lung infection. His condition continues to be critical.
