KSE price index ends day down 124.4 points

Kuwait : The price index at Kuwait Stock Exchange ended Monday’s session down 124.4 points to settle at 12,091.3 points and the weighted index reached 696.22 points, down 5.85 points.

Volume of traded shares came to 194.1 million, valued at KD 119.3 million and changing hands over 5,922 spot transactions.

The food sector was the lone index in green today among KSE’s eight sector indices, after gaining 13.2 points, and the insurance sector remained unchanged.

The services sector lost 207.1 points, followed by the investment sector by a slip of 172.8 points, the industrial sector by 117.7 points, and the non-Kuwaitis sector also shed 99.2 points. The real estate sector lost 80.9 points and the banking sector shed 63.1 points as well.

The market saw the index up 163.7 points upon closing Sunday at 12,215.7 points with the weighted index gaining ground as well at an 11.32 points hike to 702.07 points, but the KSE index was red early into today’s session.
