The government has informed Raj Bhavan about the swearing-in ceremony, the sources said Sunday. The Jammu and Kashmir Governor S.K. Sinha will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Baig.

Baig had held the post earlier when the Congress took over from the PDP in November 2005. However, he was stripped of the position in August 2006 following differences with PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and his daughter and party president Mehbooba Mufti.

Earlier Saturday, the PDP formally recommended Baig for the post.

Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, who called on his predecessor Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Saturday evening for discussions on the contentious issues, was given the name of Baig as PDP’s nominee for the post of deputy chief minister.

“There was a discussion on many subjects and most of the problems that had cropped up between the chief minister and the PDP leadership have been removed,” a senior leader of the PDP told IANS.
