Bhopal: The Hyderabad-based Civil Liberties Monitoring Committee India, (CLMCI), has called upon the people to come forward to protect the right to life with human dignity, which is a universally accepted right, and struggle for the protection of this right to life for their fellow human beings.

The CLMCI has demanded to stop tortures and close of torture cells, stop violation of right to life with human dignity, release the Muslim youths immediately and urged the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister to accept the responsibility of torturing Muslim youths and apologize the Muslim community.

Lateef Mohd Khan, general secretary CLMCI, in a Press release on the occasion of the International Human Rights
Day expressed his grief and sorrow on the bomb blasts and loss of lives of citizens all over India. It also expressed his deep concern over the targeting of Muslim community in the name of investigation of blasts.

Lateef said that in the garb of investigations, police has arrested hundreds of youths in Hyderabad, kept them illegally detained in torture cells and tortured them in inhuman manner, conducted Narco test by cheating them which is highly condemnable. Blasts are terrorist act of unknown persons or organizations, but the torturing act is also terror unleashed by the state. This act of terror committed by the government, which comes to power by taking oath of the Constitution of India for the protection of the right to life with human dignity, degrades all human values.

When the whole world celebrated the Human Rights Day, in India the government agencies or other fascist forces violated the human rights openly. The remarks of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendar Modi on the fake encounter killing of Sohrabuddin, the atrocities in Nandigram and the shameful act of West Bengal Government in the name of maintaining law and order using of SLR and AK 47 rifles on the citizens to kill them, violation of basic rights of the poor people in the name of SEZ, atrocities on women, dalits and Muslim and discrimination with them in every department of government, all these show that standard of Human Rights is pathetic and its violation is increasing. The Parliament and the judiciary in India is not reacting as in democratic countries should act, the release alleged.

The release pointed out that still the criminals, who demolished the Babri Masjid, are roaming free and have gone to become prime minister, deputy prime minister and chief ministers. The criminals of Gujarat genocide too are roaming free and propagating their communal agenda. It alleged that Modi who is the master mind of Gujarat genocide and committed the crime against humanity still far away from the clutches of law. These are the question marks on judicial procedure system and that’s why the minorities of this country are feeling unsafe, the release added.

Meanwhile, in Andhra Pradesh, the Press release said, the graph of standard of human rights comes down. The police firing which took place in Hyderabad at Makkah Masjid and Mudigunda has proved that government is killing its own citizens like enemy. In the name of encounter this government has killed 3000 people, the release charged.

In Hyderabad city after the bomb blasts, wherein several people died and majority of them belonged to Muslim community, police opened fire on Muslims, blamed Muslims and then in the name of investigation it picked up hundreds of Muslim youths and detained them illegally in the torture cell, and then tortured them in an inhuman manner. Police tortured Muslim youths by giving the reference of their religion Islam, Quran, and Namaz. The police tortured them by giving electric shocks on their lips and chest and other sensitive parts, by saying as to why they recited the Holy Quran, why they offered Namaz?

The Press release charged that police used all the Israeli methods of torturing like electric treatment and water treatment. Police kept these Muslim youths without clothes to pressurize them to own the responsibility of the blasts. The minority commission report itself proves that how the police tortured these youths but still the Andhra Pradesh government is not taking any steps and is keeping the youths in jail. As such the government is violating the right to life of Muslim youths with human dignity.

The CLMCI has promised that struggle will continue to protect the right to life and justice for all. ([email protected])
