Jammu : Jammu and Kashmir Estates Department is on toes to make alternate arrangements for accommodating office of Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Baig, who has expressed his annoyance over the lack of proper space in his official chamber.

Well informed sources in the civil secretariat told News Agency of Kashmir that well before the cabinet expansion the estate department was given only two days time to make arrangements for the office of deputy chief minister.

“Though Baig was provided with his official chamber just outside the chief minister’s secretariat, the deputy chief minister expressed his dismay over the arrangements”, sources, preferring anonymity said.

It was reliably learnt the Baig has demanded ample space in his office at par with his own party colleague and finance minister Tariq Hameed Qarra. “The minister needs a conference hall attached to his room as it was available when he was finance minister”, an official of estates department said.

The department, sources said, was now eyeing on the office of former chief secretary C Phunsog, who is presently serving as advisor to the chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad. “The room being used by Phunsog is one of the options available with us”, sources told NAK adding, “However, if Baig is accommodate in this room, alternate arrangements need to be taken for the CM’s advisor”.
