Iran expects upcoming OIC Summit to counter anti-Islam propaganda

Tehran : Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said here on Saturday that the upcoming OIC Summit will shoulder heavy responsibility to counter anti-Islam propaganda campaign.

In a meeting with his visiting Bruneian counterpart, Lim Jock Seng, he said Muslim states will seriously defend their sanctities during the upcoming Summit of leaders of the Organization of Islamic Conference member states to be held in Senegal.

Senegal is expected to take over OIC presidency from Malaysia.

On reopening of Iran’s embassy in Brunei, he said Iran is ready to boost all-out ties with Brunei.

Referring to great potentials of Iranian companies in different areas of energy, oil and gas exploration, dam construction, and auto manufacturing, Mottaki voiced Iran’s readiness to carry out joint projects with Bruneian companies in different parts of the world.

Expressing his satisfaction with his current visit to Tehran, Seng said he held fruitful meetings with several Iranian officials.

The Bruneian foreign minister voiced his country’s interest to bolster bilateral cooperation with Iran, particularly in the areas of energy, investment and tourism.

He referred to the upcoming OIC meeting in Senegal as a good opportunity for helping the Muslim community across the world to introduce the real picture of Islam.
