“A mild tremor was felt here at 12.55 p.m. We are working out the magnitude and other details of the quake,” G.R. Rather, meteorologist at the weather office told IANS.

“No damage has so far been reported from anywhere,” he said.

People in many places ran out of their offices and homes.

“I was sitting in my shop when the chair in which I was sitting started rocking. I ran out of the shop, but the tremor was soon over,” said Nazir Ahmad, a shopkeeper here.
