Yemen to establish satellite network for defending Prophet

Sana’a –(IINA)March 02, 2008 – Yemen is to establish a satellite TV network in a bid to defend the honor and sanctity of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). This was disclosed by Abdul Majid Al Zandani, chancellor of Al Iman University. He said that the network is scheduled to air programs in two languages of English and Arabic, Saba reported. “Officials of the network will disseminate precious tenets of the enlightening religion of Islam as well as address questions on Islamic issues,” the scholar said.

Calling for setting up a Yemeni association for defending the Prophet, Al Zandani said that the association would cooperate with international Islamic organizations to confront blasphemy against Islamic sanctities, and inform the young generation of anti-Islam assaults. Speakers at a conference, held recently in Sana, with the aim of defending the sanctity of Prophet Mohammad condemned republication of blasphemous cartoons of the Prophet in Danish papers.
