Abdullah bin Zayed condoles the death of Kuwaiti Ex-minister

Kuwait : UAE Foreign minister HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his condolences to Al Rubei family on the sad demise of the former minister and member of Kuwait’s National Assembly, Ahmad Al-Rubei.

Sheikh Abdullah expressed his profound grief and deep-felt condolences to the family of the deceased, praying to the Al Mighty God to admit the departed soul to the eternal paradise.

Al Rubei was struggling with illness since some time, and passed away on Wednesday at the age of 59.

The deceased had served as Kuwait’s minister of education. A PhD holder from Harvard University, he taught philosophy at Kuwait University. In 1996 he was elected to the National Assembly, where he served until 1999. A noted columnist and critic, he was also a well-known figure in television political talk shows and academic and intellectual circles.

Sheikh Abdullah lauded Al Rubei’s contributions to the Arab intellectual thought.

Sheikh Abdullah was accompanied by a number of ministers, intellectuals, academicians and media persons who included HE minister of culture, youth and community development Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Owais, HE minister of state for foreign affairs Dr. Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Director General of Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage Mohammed Khalaf Al Mazroui, Chairman of UAE Journalists’ Association Mohammed Yusuf and a number of other senior officials.
