No difference of opinion among members of govt: Elham

By NNN-IRNA

Tehran : Iranian Government spokesman Gholam Hossein Elham on Saturday stressed that there is no difference of opinion on foreign policy among members of the government.

He made the remarks in response to a question on possible rift between government and Foreign Ministry on continuation of nuclear talks.

Talking to reporters during his first weekly press briefing in the new Iranian year (started on March 20), he said that the Islamic Republic of Iran’s foreign policy is materialized by the Foreign Ministry.

Such claims are baseless and unfounded, Elham said, stressing that there exists unity and solidarity among members of the government in different fields, particularly in the area of foreign policy.

Asked whether Iran is interested in continuing talks on the country’s peaceful nuclear program, he said the Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly announced that it is ready to sit at negotiating table with all states including the European states.

Tehran is interested in negotiations on bilateral and international issues with all countries except the occupying regime of the holy Qods which it believes is illegitimate, Elham added.

Referring to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as the major center for examining nuclear issues, he said its members have commitments towards the agency.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is committed to its obligations, he said.

Tehran enjoys appropriate cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog and is not willing to weaken the agency, he noted.

Iran has a transparent and clear stand regarding peaceful nuclear activities, he said, stressing that it will continue its international interactions based on law.

Tehran does not need any incentives from Europe in order to gain its legitimate rights, he said, reiterating that it is Iran’s inalienable right and the country will not exchange its rights for things like incentives.
