Second constituency candidates call for cooperation between authorities

Kuwait : Candidates of the National Assembly 2008 elections asserted importance of cooperation between the legislative and executive authorities and resolving differences between the two sides.

The second constituency candidates Ali Al-Refai and Fayez Al-Nashwan, during a joint rally entitled “Kuwait entrusted … The battles between the two authorities to where?,” during the opening of their campaign headquarters last night, stressed on the importance of combating the “buying votes phenomenon,” as it affects development in the country and encourages financial and political corruption.

Al-Refai criticized the dissolved National Assembly “MPs’ interference in the executive authorities’ work and their threats against the ministers,” as well as the recurring change of the governments and transfering ministers from one ministry to another.

He also warned from the negative outcomes of changing educational syllabuses, as this might affect cultural and scientific development of the future generations.

Al-Nashwan said, “the continous clashes between the National Assembly and the government would lead to undermining the government program,” calling for prioritizing the country’s interests.

He referred to the importance of coordination between the two authorities to achieve development and welfare in the society.

The second constituency includes 13 areas, with 41,365 voters.
