A Silicon Valley, California based education website providing a social learning exchange and classroom platform for clients, and are looking for a team of developers and designers to take this website through development and launch.

The ideal developer(s) will possess the following skills

* PHP/Python/Java/ Flash, MySQL, or AJAX
* Experience in installing and customizing CMS systems
*Developing Facebook Aps

We will communicate with the developer(s) on a weekly basis on progress to date and clarifying questions/concerns. This project will be a collaborative process. It is important to deliver a "working" site. The development team will be required to have a Basecamp account in order for us to monitor progress. Also, all communications be conducted through Skype.

The final product will belong to us - you may not share or replicate the code with other clients. You will be required to design the logo as well as the look and feel for the site.

An integral part of our strategy is the Facebook application and Google's Open Social platform to create widgets/application s that will be viral and increase our adoption rate. You may have to work with outside Facebook and Open social developers (other members of the team) to integrate the look and feel + coding into our site.

Teaching Urdu-Hindi at Harvard University

The Department of Sanskrit and Indian Studies of Harvard University invites applications for the position of Preceptor of Urdu-Hindi to begin September 1, 2008. This full-time, non-tenure track position is renewable annually up to a maximum of eight years.

Applicants are expected to have advance degree work in a relevant field (linguistics, literature, etc.), experience in teaching Urdu and Hindi as second languages, native or near-native fluency in Urdu and Hindi, and fluency in spoken and written English. Since the successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at all levels of Urdu and Hindi, including literary texts, applicants should have full competence in both the Perso-Arabic (Urdu) and Devanagari scripts. Knowledge of Persian and/or Sanskrit is also desirable.
