A video with the confession of RSS worker Subeesh was submitted to the CBI court in Kochi on Friday. The video was submitted by CPIM leader and accused in Fazal murder case Karayi Rajan.

The video shows Subeesh revealing that Fazal was killed by four RSS activists including him on October 22, 2006 at Thalassery in Kannur district.

In the video, he names the other three as Prateesh, Pramesh, and Shinoy.

According to the video, the four RSS workers went to local leader Thilakan’s residence. After hearing of the attack on Fazal, Thilakan slapped Subeesh and asked the gang to keep weapons which had Fazal’s blood at his house. He further ordered not to tell anyone about the murder.

The video shows Subeesh saying two of the gang hacked Fazal with swords while he fell down from the bicycle, which he used to distribute newspapers.

Subeesh had made the confession in November, 2016, when he was arrested for murdering CPIM worker Paduvilayi Mohanan in Kannur in October 2016.

The police had earlier arrested CPIM leaders Karayi Rajan and Karayi Chandrasekharan in the case and the case had caused political damage for the party in Kannur. The duo was released on bail by the Kerala High Court in November 2013. And the court ordered the two Karayis not to leave Ernakulam district. Police said that Fazal was murdered after he left the party and started to work for PFI.

The video had gone viral on social media in January this year and the High Court had handed over the probe into CBI.

Earlier, former RSS cadre Sudheesh Minni had told The Times of India that he knew the operations behind the Fazal murder. Sudheesh made his revealation after joining CPIM. “I have briefly mentioned it in my book on the role of the RSS. Subeesh is only a pawn in the operation,” he told TOI.

According to Sudheesh, the CPM’s influence among the Muslims was a cause of concern for the Sangh Parivar in Kannur . “They devised a strategy to murder Fazal and put the blame on the CPM,” Sudheesh told TOI.

However, Subeesh told a Malayalam channel that he made his confession after he was tortured by the police.

Weapons seized from RSS centre in Kannur

The police on Friday night also seized swords and one steel bomb from an RSS centre at Payyannur in Kannur. The weapons were seized after local residents informed the police about the weapon collection at a shed, being used by RSS and BJP activists to hold routine meetings. The weapons were found stuffed in a sack inside the shed. Local reports said the shed was used by the two organizations during electioneering. Payyannur police have registered a case and started investigation.

The CPIM leadership has demanded strong action against the culprits while RSS leadership alleged that the weapons were thrown to the centre by outsiders in a bid to tarnish the image of the RSS and BJP.
