Educated Kerala Muslims are not backward.
MUSLIMS haven't slipped due to discrimination but because they waste time by-hearting QUR'AN while they should be studying. During vacations when other children prepare for the studies ahead, Muslim Children attend QUR'AN classes wearing skull cap. So they are left behind in competitive exams are seeking easy way out by demanding reservation. Educated Kerala Muslims are not backward.
When one minority group-MUSLIMS alone feel that they have "GROWN BACKWARD" while all other minorities in India- SIKHS, JAINS, BUDDHIST, JEWS, PARSEE etc do not feel so, it obvious that the IDEOLOGY OF ISLAM has failed the Muslims resulting in their backwardness. Indian Muslims must convert to another religion to improve their living standard and could convert to SIKHISM as ISLAM and SIKHISM have many commonalities. More importantly SIKHS are a smaller minority than MUSLIMS but a more prosperous one.

Ranganath (retd judge who has appointed to submit a report on status of MUSLIM in India) has insisted this govt., to give 10% reservation for MUSLIMS. The fact is he is not a MUSLIM. Since you have a good knowledge in a particular field it doesn't mean that you know everything, but QU'RAN teaches a man how to live in every aspect of life. Many MUSLIMS are not aware of what has written in quran since its in Arabic but, if they try to understand the meaning of Quran in their own language then everyone will be in ALLAH's way. To be pointed QURAN is not only for MUSLIMS its for the whole humanity. Insha allah the day will come for everyone to realise that ISLAM is the only way given by ALMIGHTY ALLAH to all human. For your information ISLAM means "Attaining peace but submitting your will towards god" and MUSLIM means "The person who attains peace but submitting his will towards god". Muslims are not backward because of ideology of Islam.In Kerala, whose example you quote, there are muslims who memorise the quran and are also well educated.In fact, Quran is being memorised at Madarsa's and there is a need to teach secular subjects as well in Madarsa.In many Muslim concentrated districts, there aren't adequate schools and muslims have to go to Madarsa. But for Madarsa, these children would end up being in crime for they would have nothing to do. The downtrodden amongst hindus got reservation. If muslims also get reservation, it will be beneficial. Of course, muslims are also responsible for their state of affairs but Islam is not to blame. There are various factors which can not be discussed here.

"I can say islam is the best way in every aspect of life..." i agree muslims in india are backward .. But islam is nt cause for that. Let me remind you muslims ruled india, saudia Arabia is one of the rich countries in the world even iraq... Islam encourages people to work hard and earn lively hood. Islam has the best economic system, it has zakaat system.. Every person whoes wealth is about 88 grams of gold has to pay zakaat which is 2.5% of it, which is given to pour people, ushur is yet another type of zakaat on agricultural harvest, a person has to pay 5% of agricultural harvest to pour people.. The probleum is that muslims are not doing these things properly, but Islam has laid great stress on it.. There are much verses in Quran which says pay zakaat pay zakaat with great stress.. If muslims fallow Islam properly there would be much help for poor people insha Allah.

Muslims have ruled India for hundreds of years, following the same religion. They are still ruling in more than 50 countries in the world. Had Islam been the reason for their backwardness, these would never had happened. It is a very simple logic.
They have been put the wall after independence. Like any other backward groups viz., SCs, STs, OBCs, backward Muslims too aspire to see their face in governance and the development of India. That's it!

Watched MNIK- it shows that
1. A Muslim man marries a HINDU Single mother, converts her to Islam and even the HINDU CHILD of her is not spared. Even though the HINDU CHILD has not attained "legal age to give consent" for conversion being a minor, the child is converted and named KHAN.
2. The child gets killed in the school because of his conversion to ISLAM and name- KHAN.
3. The distort HINDU women accuses the MUSLIM MAN for the death of her son - because of conversion to ISLAM and leaves the MUSLIM MAN to re-start life as a Hindu. Then melodrama starts- hurricane, heroism etc etc.
4. The tragedy would NOT have occurred if the MUSLIM MAN had 1-- converted to HINDUISM as the women and her child, TWO out of THREE were Hindus OR 2-- not forced the HINDU WOMEN and CHILD to convert to ISLAM OR 3-- at least NOT converted the HINDU CHILD allowing him to grow up as a good human being and left the option of conversion to ISLAM after he becomes 21 years of age.
CONVERSION to ISLAM was the cause of tragedy. So Indian Muslims can opt to convert to Indian religions to "escape the tragedy they face".

g) Stupid LGBT "Anonymous". Check statistics of any country w.r.t. male VS female population. FEMALE percentage is ALWAYS MORE than MALES. Islam gives that right to marry more than one wife, to solve "women" who remained unmarried, and minimizes chances of going astray, or falling prey to gazing / lusty looks of strange men.
Have you NOT HEARD about rampant "female" infanticide, "sex determination of child in womb" in India, "dowry" harrassment cases, "daughter-in-law" burning cases - in India ???

Objective of this forum should be a healthy discussion about religious issues but we should not take the Herculean task of proving a religion superior or inferior to other with all our limited knowledge. The British Raj ,soon after India's first war of independence (1857) decided to discriminate the Muslims and woo the Hindus! The Muslim mullahs also contributed much for the isolation of Muslims because of their poor knowledge about sciences.(They did not know that the Golden Era of Islamic Sciences oonly led the West to make further strides!)So in a gap of nearly 30 years the Hindus acquired western education and got good positions. Muslim intellectuals like Sir Syed Amed Khan & others tried to open new schools and colleges for Muslims in 1927!When Indian National Congress predominately a Hindu political outfir started the freedom movement, The Raj provided reservation for Muslims to spite the others.Between 1927 and 1947 the few educated Muslims clamoured for a separate land- Pakistan!So the cleavage became all the more.Finally India was divided and Pakistan created.Thanks to their lack of diplomacy, the Pakistanis lost the eastern province and a new nation emerged as Bangladesh!Moreover during their 63 years of existence, they were under military dictators rather than under a democratic setup!Some political parties patronaged

I believe, "white thread" magic is practiced in India, for centuries - but was more hidden. And, in my opinion that's one MAJOR REASON, there is no "unemployment" for Brahmins and other high-castes. And that's also the main reason for backward conditions of minorities, in India.

Reservation is very important for the muslim community in India. India can never become a super power without improving muslims' condition since muslims are also a part of india. I have best friends from all communities and I am not having any hatred against any human being, but it is true that generally it is very difficult to find good employment in India if you are a muslim(if you do not have any influence). Let me tell you one incident. In 1982 BHEL factory started in Ranipet (Tamil Nadu). Myself and my best friend(Brahmin), both Physics graduates applied there for employment and we both got interviews.Only my friend(Brahmin) was selected and went for medical fitness test.But he failed in medical and again approached the manager(also a Brahmin). The Manager got angry with him for not wearing white thread during medical test. My friend again went for medical fitness test with white thread and got selected.After trying so many years to find good employment, my poverty forced me to start a footpath shop to sell used garments and plastic items in the bazzar. Very tough life. After long struggle, I was able to move legally to a western country and now I am very successful educator and businessman. It is my sincere opinion that currently muslims' condition/status is very pathetic in India.

They can NOT compete on equal terms with the General category HINDUS and are demanding reservation hoping that MUSLIMS may out perform the SC/ST which is a UTOPIAN dream as the SC/ST are also equally intelligent and have been given reservation due to social discrimination they faced for centuries. Muslims who ruled India for Centuries will never be granted reservation.

Some muslims says that they do not want reservation, brother think about other backward regions, if u are staying in a good city with good education and earning so its fine that if u dont get reservation, but think about muslims who are in tribal belt of india and they are earning less than 30RS a day, so do they not deserve reservation to come up in Education, government jobs, medical assistance, etc.
So please if you are giving opinion then for whole community then think befor you say anything.

The rangnath misra report has been out it recommends 15% Reservation for Muslims in Education & employment.
Also Recommends Inclusion of Muslim & Christian Dalits in SC List.
They are saying that muslims are eligible for reservation, now it is our right to snatch that, I am wondered seeing that someone is not willing for reservation .
The second thing which is recommended that to include muslim dalits in SC list is very important.

Take an Exmaple: As of now also we have many talented muslims in india, and they are doing exceptionally well outside india, Then why we don’t have muslims in govt office Like RBI, Army, PSU Banks, and many other PSU company….

The only solution is bringing the weak people of the society to main stream, by give reservation in all sectors, not only in Education, economically and politically as well.

I have a Brahmin Classmate, and we always did combined-studies. I know his standard and caliber, as I was always first in class, and he was way down. We both appeared for "Class-IV" service commission exam. I failed, and he passed, got job, and now, he is Asst. Commissioner Rank.
Readers should know about "white thread" magic - which is BLESSED to Brahmin Males at birth. They just show the "white thread", and that magic works WONDERS - in school / college admissions, service-commission exams, jobs, wherever SPECIAL FAVOURS, are needed.
I am just trying to convey, how favouritism of "white thread" works wonders, and side-lines other TALENTED Indians, including Muslims.

Muslim Reservations
Abidali, No Ambedkar was not loser. He advocated reservations at that time which was correct and he himself wanted to put a limit on reservations after few decades. But our greedy politicians kept continuing to play their vote bank politics.
What has reservations achieved till now and if the really deserving ones able to get it? No. It is only low caste powerful leaders who enjoy the lifetime benefits. Now it has become holy cow and no body can touch it, lest there will be immolations, bandhs and political seats at stake.

Giri, I sympathize with your view, but experience has shown that individuals, especially those at the bottom of the ladder have no power to get redress from systematic discrimination. The only way though imperfect is to implement the temporary reservation policy for the discriminated groups based on religion.
We are not asking more then what we deserve (give us at least 10% of share for Muslims, which is guaranteed by Indian constitution). As of now statistic shows that only 1-2% Representation of Muslims in the Administration of Indian Government.
Coming back to your argument "If you look at the historical statistic about SC/ST...They are benefited lot because of reservation policy".

Mugging up needs no brains
Mugging up needs no brains and will get anyone good marks in class 12 Exams. But application of that knowledge in a competitive exam needs intelligence because questions for competitive Exams are not directly asked from test books.
I know of a twins who studied in the same school and class from class 1-12 and the GIRL always scored 8-10% more than the BOY in every exam including class 12. But for the entrance test for BTech, the boy was about 4000 ranks ahead of the GIRL and got selected to better collage. Such things do happen and attributing it as discrimination is totally incorrect. Muslims are trying to find fault with everything Indian.

I FORGOT to WRITE about my earlier SUCCESS in "Armed Forces" non-commissioned officers exam, and my friends' FAILURE. I could not join armed forces, as I was below 18-years, and parental consent was necessary - and my friend could not join, for FAILING written exam.
I was NOT trying to convey my failure in Group-IV exam, but the message was to emphasize "white-thread" magic, and caste-discrimination, prevalent to-date in India.
Thank you both for your valuable comments. I got the message viewing the latest movie "Three Idiots", and I don't need "FREE advice".

P.S.: On Nov. 1st 1984, I was the first one to call my best friend, a SARDAR to rush-home and take cover, to protect himself and his family from Anti-Sikh Riots. To-date, he still remembers that call, and thanks me. But I always tell him, that I did my duty as a BEST-FRIEND.

Muslims are educationally, economically backward because just like your thinking they are backward in they they think. Wow what an example to show how "intelligent" person like you can lose to a "un-intelligent" brahmin.
