Thirteen militants killed in Pakistan

Islamabad : Thirteen militants were killed and five injured Saturday when Pakistani security forces bombarded militant hideouts in the country's northwest, the army said.

Security forces used cobra helicopters in the operation and a huge cache of explosives in a town in the Swat valley was also destroyed in the bombardment, it said.

One soldier was also killed in the operation.
